March 15th 2010

Well so much has happened at the stud and I certainly have been slow to report recently.

The most exciting thing to happen for the stud has been the new that our Beautiful UK mare has been served by Cusop Dimension and now the wait is on to see if we have been successful in getting this mare in foal.

On the 20th of February, the Riding Pony Annual Show case was held and we took our stunning Blandford Dancing Queen and her filly Thorne Parks Dance Folly. Dancing Queen came home with Runner-up Broodmare of the Year fro the 2nd consecutive year and Dance Folly won her filly foal class. Dance Folly has now been weaned and Dancing Queen has had her 45 day preg test confirming her pregnancy to the superb Uk stallion Stanley Grange Cocksure.

On the 14th of March, we took our colt Ascot Magnum Silk and Thorne Parks Songbird (Thorne Parks Song & Dance x Kazoo Lodge Anna Karina)out to the Welsh Pony and Cob Society's 3 Breed spectacular. Magnum came home with Champion part Welsh colt and Champion Riding Pony colt, while Songbird came home with Supreme Riding Pony Foal, Supreme Part Welsh foal and Grand Champion Open Foal of the show. An amazing achievement for both ponies and Songbirds debut show and all under UK judges John and Ann James of the Sianwood Stud.

More news from around the shows, was from Thorne Parks Song & Dance (Stanton parks Special Edition x Blandford Dancing Queen) who was awarded Supreme Champion Riding Pony at the Canning Districts EWA Breed show and yesterday was awarded Supreme Arabian Derivative and Reserve Champion Riding Pony at the Manjimup Breed Show. Another wonderful achievement for Chrissy and Kayley Bell who have just been going from strength to strength with this marvelous pony.

More news from Thorne Parks stock is that the stunning buckskin gelding Thorne Parks In Style has been sold to a wonderful show home in Tasmania and will soon make the journey to the South east of Australia. We can not thank Melissa Direen, who bought him from the stud for giving Les such a marvelous start to his show career and wish her the best of luck with her future showing.

February 10th 2010

Thorne Park's progeny has started the 2010 show season with a bang. A big congratulations must go to Chrissy Bell on another superb performance by the lovely Thorne Parks Song & Dance. He recently attended the South West Breed Spectacular held at Bunbury where he continued his winning run by being awarded Supreme Riding Pony Exhibit and Top 3 Supreme of Supremes of the Show. Chrissy certainly has taken this pony to winning heights and we can't wait to see what he is capable of under saddle as from all reports he is going like a charm. He will make is debut under saddle in 2010.

Some more unexpected but exciting news for the stud, after two failed attempts at AI for Blandford Dancing Queen, we had decided to miss 2010 and concentrate on getting her in foal later in the season. But, for our own piece of mind, we decided to track the last cycle, just to see where we might have missed something. The cycle progressed like clockwork and our vet suggested we inseminate her with semen we had in our "freezer" to see if this cycle the one. We did and are happy to report Anna will be having a foal to the exceptional and proven small pony sire Stanley Grange Cocksure UK owned by Jerome Harforth of the Stanley Grange Stud in December. We are super excited about the cross and we are certain we will get a spectacular small pony. New pictures of Dancing Queens superb 2009 foal, Thorne Parks Dance Folly, are below.

Only a week now to the RP Annual Showcase. We have three entered, but more than likely will only be taking two. The ponies all look fantastic and we eagerly await our first show for 2010.

January 20th 2009

It certainly has been a while since I have updated the site, however being summer, things have been quiet with very little to report.

Glyndebourne Morticia has received her 42 day preg test to Stanley Grange Cocksure UK who is owned by Jerome Harforth of the Stanley Grange Stud in the UK. This will be a highly anticipated foal as Morticia has not produced a foal for the stud since the beautiful TP Little Darling, due the stallion problems in 2008. On the rest of the breeding front we are eagerly awaiting a preg test from Kinlieth Primadonna who has been covered by the exceptional stallion and son of the illustrious Sandbourne Royal Ensign, Penmain Heir Apparent. She will be tested this Friday, but we can not thank Mavis Dilley of Gordon Park Show Horses enough for traveling Charles up to our place to serve Prim. It went well beyond the duties of a stallion owner and we can not be more grateful to her. And finally with weather plummeting to -10 degrees in the UK, we are still hoping against hope to get the beautiful Diptford Amazing Grace in foal to Cusop Dimension shortly, so she can make her trip to Australia. Thanks must go to Ron and Debbie, Dave and Luke and the vet Phillipa for assisting us in making this a reality.

On the pony front, the stud has sold the colt produced from Kinlieth Primadonna who upon weaning will be going to the owner of his sire Woranora Trademark, Jean Passchier. However we too have purchased from Jean the beautiful and only foal from Thorne Parks Song & Dance, who will call Thorne Park home. We feel very fortunate to have secured this filly and to have found Pete the very best of homes.

Our other foal for 2009, Thorne Parks Dance Folly AI, is shaping up to be the mirror image of her dam, Blandford Dancing Queen. Below are shots taken of her on the 13th of January. This will be an exciting show prospect for 2010 and we can't wait to get her out and about.

December 31st 2009

As many people may have heard, 2009 will end in a very sad way for Thorne Park Stud, with the sad passing of our exceptional filly Thorne Parks Little Darling AI. This superbly bred filly was by the stunning Rotherwood Peter Pan who resides in the UK, out of our amazing mare Glyndebourne Morticia. This had been the only filly we had decided to retain at the stud and as a two year old, we were so close to that all important breaking in and campaigning. Although only shown lightly, she had certainly proven herself to be a magnificent and successful pony who would certainly have had great things ahead of her. She was sadly put to sleep after suffering a paddock accident, that all our efforts could not save. This happened on the 20th of December and I have only just been able to update the site now, as her passing has left a huge hole. We intend to put her dam back in foal to Peter Pan in 2010 to hopefully create another spectacular foal.

To top of an already devastating week, we also had negative preg tests from Primadonna who was covered by Penmain Heir Apparent and Blandford Dancing Queen who was AI'ed with Ainthorpe Graceful Sonnet imp. Dancing Queen has again been AI'ed and we can only hope for a positive outcome. Primadonna will be covered again next week, so everything is crossed on both of those. Amazing Grace, over in the UK is still in the process of getting ready to be served, but with snow and bitter coldness, we may be slowed a bit by that.

December 9th 2009

It is with great excitement that we can finally announce, we are the proud new owners of Diptford Amazing Grace, one of England's most consistent winners in 2009. We had always discussed purchasing a pony from England, and we either looked half-heartedly, or did not find the right pony. But the opportunity to purchase this exceptional mare came up and we could not pass it up.

Grace is the 2009 Champion Show Pony of the Year at the UK HOYS Show, Royal International Supreme Show Pony, British Show Pony Society Blue Riband Champion Show Pony and Bath & West Champion Show Pony, just to name a few of her wins. She is a magnificent 6 years old bay mare by Barkway Overture out of the Diptford April Shower. She is the most magnificent mover with a temperament to die for. She also has that beautiful turn of front that we just adore. Her breeding was another reason to purchase her, with limited ponies of a similar breeding in Australia, so we hope she will inject some new blood into the country. Grace will hopefully be coming out in foal to the superb Cusop Dimension, which the resulting foal will be invaluable to our stud.

We can not thank enough Ron & Debbie Thomas for allowing us the purchase this exceptional mare. But an enormous thank you must go to David Jinks and Luke Dawes for being so invaluable in helping us secure the mare. Without you this would not have been possible.

We can also report, our stunning mare, Glyndebourne Morticia has been confirmed in foal to Stanley Grange Cocksure UK via Frozen semen. This will be this mares 3rd frozen AI baby and again providing the stud with some wonderful new bloodlines. Well Done Tish!!!!

We have also had Blandford Dancing Queen inseminated to Ainthorpe Graceful Sonnet imp UK on Monday. We can not Thank Joan Bell of Belrose Stud more for the amount of effort, time and the pressure we placed her under to get us the semen. Your help was amazing and I can not recommend this stallion highly enough, not just because he is a beautiful pony, but because Joan has made every request we had possible. Thanks you

And finally, the beautiful Kinlieth Primadonna has been served by the gorgeous Penmain Heir Apparent and we hope for a positive preg test in a couple of weeks. Thanks to Mavis and Leon of Gordon Park for taking such good care of the mare and foal and for allowing us to use their beautiful stallion.

A reminder that our foals from 2009 have arrived and one or both may be for sale, so please do not hesitate to contact us further to come and see them.

December 2nd 2009

We have been right in the thick of things at the moment in particular with our breeding season. Glyndebourne Morticia has again been AI'ed to Stanley Grange Cocksure (UK) and hopefully in a week we will find our if round 2 has been successful. Kinlieth primadoona has been delivered to Gordon Park to be joined with the stunning Sandbourne Royal Ensign son, Penmain Heir Apparent. Although we adore the Ensign line, we have been in love with his dam, Sufton Wild Rose imp since her importation to Australia, so we early await this future foal. And Blandford Dancing Queen has started preparations to be joined with the beautiful Ainthorpe Graceful Sonnet imp and hopefully she gets up and going and we will get this much awaited foal under way.

Other things have been occupying the studs time recently and we are almost ready to reveal our exciting news. This may come as a surprise to some people, but it is certainly a thrilling time here.

We have placed Thorne Parks Puss in Boots on the market and interest can sent to me via e-mail or calling the stud 08 9399 1501. We are still to make our final decision to sell Blandford Dancing Queen's magnificent filly who is just getting better and better by the day and is a spitting image of her mother, lets hope she can perform as well. More pictures will be loaded of this beautiful foal hopefully tomorrow.

Good luck to all competing at the EFA Nationals this weekend. Check back next week for our announcement!!!!
November 20th 2009

Well it has been very remiss of me not to update sooner, but I have the great pleasure in introducing Blandford Dancing Queens 2009 foal. A sensational chestnut filly by Myscal Encore. This foal has exceed all our expectations, with that trademark curvy front already visible. She has the most exquisite head, beautiful limbs and most superb nature. She looks like she will be her mothers liver chestnut and she has one hind sock and a few white hairs on her head. We are still deciding whether to keep her or sell her, but check back for updates.

More news from the highly successful show team of Chrissy and Kayley Bell, is that Thorne Parks Song & Dance has attended the Albany show and was awarded Supreme Champion Led pony of the Show. Added to their success was Kayley's Gordon Park Flirt winning Supreme Champion Novice Pony and Champion Small Pony. Well Done on your successes.

Also there are many more new and exciting developments happening at the stud, which will have a major impact on our stud and breeding future. Check back for more details.

November 11th 2009

Well we finally welcome our first foal for the season. Kinlieth Primadonna gave birth to a spectacular and flashy colt on the 8th of November by Woranora Trademark. This superb boy is going to be a stunner in the show ring and a real stand out in the crowd. He has a wide blaze and two front white socks and will be a sensational dark brown in colour. Very unusual. Already he has that Primadonna temperament, being in your face and he also has a real character. This boy is a half brother to the highly successful Thorne Parks Poetry who on the same day as his arrival, Poetry continued his winning ways with another win at the Arabian State Show. We hope this colt can follow in his big brothers footsteps. Sadly he will be for sale, but a great opportunity for a prospective buyer.

Dancing Queen, hopefully will foal shortly too, this being a much anticipated foal.

November 6th 2009

Well we are now on "count up"!!! As of today Blandford Dancing Queen and Kinlieth Primadonna are one day overdue. We are hoping both of these girls, don't delay for too long 1. because we are dying to see what each produces for the stud and 2. because we have further breeding's to do this season with both mares.

Sadly, our first AI for the season has resulted in a negative preg test for Glyndebourne Morticia. She was covered by Stanley Grange Cocksure UK and unfortunately it did not take. So as we prepare for round two, we have everything crossed for a success this time. This will be Morticia's 3rd round of Frozen AI and this is the first time she has missed.

Results from the Show Horse Council Horse of the Year last weekend, we would like to extend our biggest congratulations to  Chrissy and Kayley Bell on winning the Led Large Pony of the Year with Thorne Parks Song & Dance. This has capped of an incredibly successful season for the Bell family, with Rusty being unbeaten in a led class in 2009. Song & Dance has now been broken to saddle and exhibits all the best qualities that his mother, Blandford Dancing Queen,  possessed.  This pony will most certainly we a Horse of the Year contender. Also a big congrats to Helen and Anna Duffy and Elna Clark-Adams on their Small Pony of the Year win, with the superb Cimeron Angelica. A superb pony, excellent workout and a well deserving win.

We have Ascot Magnum Silk attending his final show for the season this weekend at the WA All Welsh show under South African judges. This will cap off the end of the season for us, so fingers crossed for a great result.

Finally, we have received from Lorelle Mercer our enhanced photos from the Perth Royal. Please see them below. More pictures are sure to be on their way from Lorelle with her visiting the stud today for a photo shoot. We hoped to have a foal or two to photograph, but alas that is not to be.
